Child Protection
Any concerns are reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or a member of the safeguarding team who deputise and assist (DDSL). Schools are legally required to follow set procedures and the LA requires the headteacher or the designated senior person for child protection to report any obvious or suspected cases of child abuse, which include non-accidental injury, severe physical neglect, emotional abuse and/or sexual abuse. We will ensure that all concerns are discussed with parent/carers first, before any referrals are made, unless we believe that such a move may be contrary to a child’s welfare.
